Non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste is defined as any chemical product, vaccine or allergenic, not containing a radioactive component, that is intended for the use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease or injury in humans and animals. These items include, but are not limited to: over-the-counter medications, all non-hazardous pharmaceutical medications and samples and any drugs that are not classified as hazardous or a DEA controlled substance.
